It is so fun and productive to try something new. I have been wanting to work on shallow water transparency, and today I did this on location, looking almost directly down. The idea for the horseshoe crabs came about half way through, as I needed a little bit of narrative and interest.

Summer Searching

I am really enjoying the challenge of painting figures at the beach and shoreline. I think they can be handled with an open ended narrative...a situation where the viewer can finish the story.

Had fun with this view in Jamestown, RI today. I've been meaning to do it for a while now. Really missing my regular gear (which was in Sacramento last check) as I had many little battles with a broken back -up tripod.
